Gatsby Africa funds and implements six \u2018sector transformation\u2019 programmes across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, and Rwanda. Most of this work involves partnering with companies to innovate, and nudge sectors towards growth, resilience and inclusion. Tandem\u2019s role is to oversee the MEL system across the portfolio. This has included working with Gatsby to design the system, and then training and supporting staff (~50 people) to get value from it. Gatsby\u2019s approach is to be highly adaptive, so a particular focus has been to ensure MEL is fully embedded with implementation teams and is genuinely useful for decision-making. This includes establishing and supporting tri-annual reflection sessions to take monitoring data, insights, and learnings, and to adapt interventions (and their ToCs) accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
